Middle School

Grades 5 through 8 Middle School is a time for girls to realize their potential as members of a learning community.  Our academic program fosters a broad base of intellectual curiosity and prepares the student for more advanced study in high school. At Visitation, we know the importance of educating girls in our society and the positive impact they will make on the world as they mature into young woman.  Together we empower your daughters to realize their potential as learners and woman of faith; we seek to instill in our girls a strong character.  We want the students to demonstrate critical thinking skills, possess a core body of knowledge, and progress on a path toward high school success.  We work hard everyday to develop the scholarship, merit, responsibility, and sisterhood our girls need to thrive in elementary school and in high school. Visitation Academy has an unwavering focus on providing rigorous, differentiated instruction in core subjects such as Reading, Writing, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Religion, as well as Physical Education, Performing Arts, Visual Arts, and Foreign Language – French.  By the end of 8th grade, the students have completed at least the equivalent of one year of high school French. Students also take the Living Environment Regents in grade 7.  In grade 8, students take the Earth Science Regents and Algebra I Regents. Visitation Academy is a part of the Gilder Lehrman American History Program.
