Nursery through 8th Grade
The study of French at Visitation Academy continues the tradition of the Order of the Visitation and its origin in Annecy France.
The curriculum was designed using the proficiency guidelines set forth by the ACTFL (American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages). Work is focused on regular practice in each of the four areas of language acquisition: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Students will also study aspects of the French culture, including music, cuisine, and art. Technology is incorporated into the classes, and laptops are provided for students to use in the classroom.
The verbal nature of learning a language requires class participation. Effort in class is a key components to success.
Our girls will graduate with the equivalence of French 1.
